The Summer of 2020 and looking forward

Overview of Children and Youth work at St Michaels over the summer

This summer wasn’t quite the one we had planned for, but God continued to provide and allow us to be fruitful during a time of separation, leading us into new ways of doing things –

The team and I had a wonderful time engaging with 10 families and their children over the summer holiday period! We provided them with personalised holiday packs containing craft making kits, colouring and activity sheets as well as biblical resources. We were also blessed to be able to gift 3 of the children from those families with Bibles!  Alongside the packs we ran several online Messy Church sessions and a virtual quiz for the SMYL & Lighthouse children.

Hopes and vision for the new term

We had a great summer blessing the young people and their families and we continue to listen to and wait on God as we move into a new term! Our hopes are to see the lives of our young people be touched and transformed by Jesus, to continue to provide a space for them to do this and to see their gifts be used within the church. Practically we hope to support this vision through our work with the youth groups; SMYL and Lighthouse, the involvement the children have in our altogether family services and our continued involvement with The Point.
With my lasting comment I want to give a big thanks to all the team and families for their continued support and commitment to serve God through our work with young people.
