Advance Notice APCM
The APCM is on Sunday 17th May at 12 noon.
A Note from the Vicar/Priest-in-charge
I hope you are all well.
As we approach the local elections on Thursday 7th May, I wanted to gently encourage everyone who is able to take part in voting. Participating in elections is one of the ways we contribute to the life of our local community, helping to shape decisions that affect our neighbourhoods, services, and shared future.
As Christians, we often speak about seeking the good of the communities we are part of, and voting can be a practical expression of that. It is an opportunity to act thoughtfully, prayerfully, and with a sense of responsibility for others.
If you would like more information to help you make your decision, the Surrey Heath Borough Council website provides clear factual details about the election process, and you can find additional background on candidates at whocanivotefor.co.uk
Please do take a moment, if you can, to pray for all those standing for election, for wisdom in leadership, and for the wellbeing of our community.
With every blessing,
Andrew
The London Marathon – Everyone Has a Reason for Running and a Story to Tell
We’re celebrating Sally Robson (St Mary’s), who has just completed the London Marathon — an amazing achievement! Do look out for a photo and join us in congratulating her. Do take the opportunity this week to ask Sally about her marathon story — what inspired her, where the money will go, and how it will make a difference.
It’s a reminder of perseverance — keeping going, one step at a time. You may have seen the story of brothers Jordan and Cian Adams (the FTD Brothers), who ran the marathon carrying a 25kg fridge to raise money for Alzheimer’s Research UK. Knowing they may themselves face dementia in their 40s, they are now running 32 marathons in 32 days in memory of family members they have lost.

A striking image — but also a powerful one. We all carry different burdens. The good news is that we don’t carry them alone. God gives us strength for each step, and in Jesus we find the grace to keep going.
As we approach Thy Kingdom Come, why not take a simple step in prayer — setting aside a few minutes each day, or joining us in church. Let’s keep going together, tell our story and looking to Jesus.
Thy Kingdom Come – Save the Date

Thy Kingdom Come is a global prayer movement from Ascension to Pentecost, inviting us to pray for more people to come to know Jesus.
We’re all encouraged to take part—especially by praying for five people we know who have not yet said “yes” to God.
Join us for a special evening of prayer at St Mary’s: Wednesday 20th May, 7.30–9.00 pm
Led by Matthew McDermott
Whether you’re new to prayer or have prayed for years, you are warmly invited.

Please give items to Alison Parker, thank you.
